Troopers say 45-year-old Salvatore Anzelone of Palmetto lost control of the double-trailer semi-truck as he drove east on I-4, hit a vehicle and then the guardrail.

Troopers said the first trailer broke apart.

The accident sent part of the trailer and its contents off of an overpass and onto the Central Florida Parkway.

Two people had minor injuries, including the driver of the 18-wheeler, who had to climb out of the cab above the river. He was ticketed for failure to maintain a single lane, troopers said.

The westbound side of Central Florida Parkway remained closed as of 5 a.m. The exit ramps from I-4 to Central Florida Parkway were also closed. “We are cooperating with authorities on the scene, and we have processes in place to retrieve packages and contact customers”. I-4 has since reopened, but the westbound lanes of the Central Florida Parkway are still blocked.

Crews are still working to remove the trailor from the roadway.
