They say the fire burned actively through the night and is uncontained. She says four state helicopters have been dropping water on the fire today, and a bulldozer line has been established on its northern flank.

The fire started Sunday morning north of Logan and moved quickly across the Horseshoe Hills, torching 8,300 acres.

“There is not a lot in our control when a fire comes through” Gallatin County Fire Warden Kerry O’Connell said.

Fire crews are working throughout the entire fire area, and fire officials are asking people to stay away from the fire. “We have a rough Global Positioning System on it”, O’Connell said.

Evacuation warnings have been issued, and several roads in the area have been closed.

Investigators have revealed that the fire was human caused, but because the investigation is still underway, authorities could not disclose whether the fire was malicious or accidental in nature. On Sunday afternoon, crews dealt with winds gusting up to between 30 and 40 miles an hour which made the situation more hard. Any fires that develop in that area are likely to spread rapidly, according to the weather service. If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article.
