“I walked closer and there was a gentleman on the floor and [he] was bleeding profusely from the head”, witness Maria Cerecer told KABC-TV. “We got free rally towels that night, so they were holding the rally towels to his head”, she said. The perpetrator is still at large, but the police say only that he was a tall man with blond hair.
Investigators have released few details other than the fight apparently began as an argument between fans that escalated to the physical confrontation. Mather’s report notes Ludwig could not confirm if the fight involved Mets and Dodgers fans.
It’s unclear if the fight was between rival fans. The victim has reportedly stabilized, but remains in critical condition at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center.
