Disney parks ban selfie sticks
If you’re looking to create an artful self-portrait with that famous mouse at the Magic Kingdom, you’ll have to do it the old-fashioned way – with your arm. They will be able to claim their selfie sticks once they leave the park. Those days are almost gone.

SeaWorld Entertainment Inc allows selfie sticks in the company s parks but not on rides or over animal habitats, spokeswoman Becca Bides said. It’s completely unsafe to extend a selfie stick on a ride at double or triple your arm’s length.
Selfie sticks are already banned at the New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Kentucky Derby, English Premier League soccer stadiums, London’s National Gallery, the Coachella music festival and the Palace of Versailles, among other places. Disney posted signs in a bid to deter people from using them.
News 12 hit the streets of The Bronx to ask residents, “What do you think of the ban on selfie sticks?” It does not matter today, though, because Disney has finally come to the conclusion that the rest of the tourism industry has – that the selfie stick is a menace that must be stopped.
Unfortunately selfie sticks have become a common sight on streets around the world as self obsessed teenagers and adults who should know better desperately chronicle their every movement.
Disney World is no longer allowing the use of selfie sticks in the theme parks.
The Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland theme parks will also instill the policy, effective July 1.
