Authorities are trying to locate a Nevada college student who was reported missing after a visit to California. She was reportedly in the Santa Barbara area to meet friends and was last seen checking out of a motel on October 6. Her family says this is uncharacteristic for her and therefore suspicious.

23-year-old Dianne Thatcher was reported missing over a week ago by her family.
Authorities do not now believe there has been any foul play.
That same day, her vehicle was found abandoned on the side of the road with a flat tire, down the street from her motel.
Sheriff’s deputies traced Thacher’s cell phone to several miles north of where her vehicle was discovered, but her phone hasn’t been active since last Tuesday. In the past several days, the Santa Barbara County Air Support conducted aerial searches of the area where her auto and cell phone were found, authorities said.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department is investigating. She said she would.
Thacher is described as 5-foot-5, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
