Fight outside Dodger Stadium leaves 1 in critical condition

Excitement and fanfare at the National League Division Series opener at Dodger Stadium turned violent last week when fans got into an argument that escalated into a full-blown assault, police said Monday. The Mets fan was punched and fell and hit his head on the concrete, causing the severity of the injury. Detectives from the LAPD robbery-homicide division are still investigating the case. Leanne Suter has the latest information on Eyewitness News at 11 p.m. KABC in Los Angeles says the injured fan, apparently a Mets rooter presumably because of what he was wearing, is in serious but stable condition at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center.

“I walked closer and there was a gentleman on the floor and was bleeding profusely from the head”, Carecer explained.

In February 2014, Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood pleaded guilty to felony charges in the attack of San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow that left him permanently disabled almost three years earlier.

The man, a Mets fan whose name, age and even city of residence were not released by the Los Angeles Police Department, lives in Bakersfield, said an acquaintance, who preferred to remain anonymous. The Dodgers lost the game 3-1, and are down in the series 1-2.
