It’s been a long, tough journey for 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan since June 2014, when a tractor-trailer plowed into a van carrying Morgan and several other comedians.

Doctors were convinced Tracy would never be able to walk again unassisted and couldn’t say for sure whether he’d make a full recovery considering the extent of his brain injury.

Fellow comedian Judah Friedlander, who appeared on NBC’s “30 Rock” with Morgan, was listed on the Comedy Cellar’s official bill, but he didn’t know about Morgan’s surprise appearance, according to Refinery 29.

Not content with just one show, Tracy also took to the stage at The Stand on Monday. Morgan suffered a traumatic brain injury, a broken leg, and broken ribs in the crash. After returning to the stage for a memorable appearance at the Emmy Awards in September, Morgan is now onstage to perform. The accident killed his mentor James “Jimmy Mack” McNair.

“(I) started to feel like myself again, which means a whole lot of women are going to get pregnant at the after party”, he laughed.

Wal-Mart – whose driver was found to be at fault for the fatal crash – has reached settlements with both Morgan and McNair’s family, but last week the retail giant launched lawsuits against three of its own insurers over the accident.
