The video, by KKTV 11 News, shows Karas breaking away from other military families waiting to welcome returning soldiers and running to hug her father in the middle of the welcome home service.

“Being gone for eight months – it’s tough”.

Oglesby hugged and kissed his girl and sent her back across the room to her mom and sister.

The crowd applauded, not seeming to mind the interruption one bit, least of all Oglesby. A little girl couldn’t wait for a homecoming ceremony to end at Fort Carson before she ran to her Daddy!

While Daniel Oglesby stood with his fellow soldiers from Fort Carson’s 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division after their tour in Asia, his daughter ran across the gym floor into his arms.

“It’s good to have her back”, husband Lt. Michael Kelly said. I was so happy to see my awesome little girl.

“Whatever they want, I’ll get it for them”.

The video has been viewed nearly one million times since being posted to KKTV’s Facebook page Tuesday. North Pole is a local amusement park in Colorado Springs.

Oglesby, who returned with the afternoon group, said the looks on the families’ faces made everything that came before better.
