One of the hottest new dramas of the Fall season is extending its run.

The network has picked up six additional episodes of the thriller starring Priyanka Chopra, bringing its total to 19. The drama, which hails from Joshua Safran, posts consistent gains when factoring in Live + Same Day + 7 Day numbers, averaging 12.2 million viewers and a 3.4 rating season to date. The show’s audience dropped slightly (3 percent) in its second week but held its demo rating. Airing Sundays at 10 p.m., the show focuses on a group of Federal Bureau of Investigation recruits training at Quantico headquarters.

It’s been a flawless storm for Quantico. The order’s a testament to both the difficulty networks have had in establishing new properties in a season that’s met with particularly harsh reviews and the strong start Quantico has enjoyed-possibly because it’s another ABC drama, like Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder, fronted by a woman of color. But that is not the only problem for Priyanka Chopra’s character as she will also have to struggle with her dark past concerning the truth about her father. ABC put a lot of money behind the marketing campaign (faux pas aside) and the series wowed global buyers at the LA Screenings, with Disney Media Distribution quickly selling Quantico to a raft of worldwide broadcasters including UKTV’s Alibi channel in the UK. A number of back-nine orders are expected to come down in the next two weeks.
