And she seized the opportunity over the weekend, while hosting Saturday Night Live, to turn out a brilliant sketch that captures the absolute absurdity of making guns such a central part of American life.

Schumer hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time and took the opportunity to criticise the lack of positive role models for girls, as exemplified by the Kardashians.

“A little discouraging, the amount of applause but, uh, c’mon Hill”, a shocked Schumer said. A whole family of women who take the faces they were born with as a light suggestion?’ This is America after all, and a love of the Kardashians and guns is probably on its way towards being added as a requirement for United States citizenship. “Khloé was ours, right?”

“…but then Khloe she lost like half her body weight”.

‘Khloe lost a Kendall, ‘ she remarked.

The first thing she did in her opening monologue was to tackle the topic about being better role models for young girls.

“But I’m trash from Long Island”, she cracked.

The show mocked porn films with a sketch in which Schumer played a teacher who wanted to get it on with her male student but was continuously interrupted by an overachieving female student.

“When her friends make her?” Starting off her monologue, the blonde comedian didn’t waste any time getting her thoughts across to the audience, which included bashing the Kardashian family.

As is typical of Schumer’s stand-up, she got laughs at everything from feminism to buttholes to Jessica Alba to Hillary Clinton, who apparently would not be a tequila-shots kind of president.

She recalled a three minute exchange with the actor, after which she said to herself “Wait am I dating Bradley Cooper?”
