By saying early in the night that Americans are exhausted of the controversy surrounding Clinton’s use of a private email account, Sanders essentially neutralized the Democratic frontrunner’s biggest weakness during the two-hour long CNN debate.

Larry Sabato of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics expects all the candidates to go after Clinton, either directly or indirectly.
While this is still a two-person race in the polls, there were three other candidates on the stage.
“It’s Hillary Clinton vs. the world”, Sabato said. But I don’t think it’s entertaining when somebody insults immigrants, insults women.
He was stiff and seemed irritated at times by the lack of attention, and his answers played to a moderate Democratic Party more in tune with Bill Clinton in the 1990s that has since shifted further left under Mr. Obama.
Sanders’ move then allowed the former secretary of state to concentrate on her policy positions instead of having to defend her e-mail practices to millions of Americans.
Repeatedly referring to the fact his home state of Vermont is a rural state where attitudes are different toward guns, Sanders admitted that he previously balked at a few gun legislation, but was quick to point out that he voted against assault weapons and to close loopholes. During an interview on Sunday’s Meet the Press, Sanders was pressed to explain his support for a measure called the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.
Former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee stood by his past remarks that Clinton’s email controversy is a serious issue.
Unlike the GOP debates, odds are this one won’t have the same fireworks and zingers that the massive field produced.
