Moore selected to All-WNBA first team

The second one, a game winning three at the buzzer of Game 3 Friday that lifted the Lynx to a 80-77 victory over the Indiana Fever.

Moore received the inbounds pass with 1.7 seconds to go in the final quarter of Game 3.

After a game of frustration, after sitting for much of the game in foul trouble, there was Moore, holding her follow through on a three pointer that barely beat the buzzer, watching the ball settle through the net like so many shots in her career.

Moore finished with 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting in 22 minutes, with seven rebounds.

Catchings’ presence makes her impactful, but she has not been as potent on offense in this series as she was in the first two rounds, when she averaged 19.7 points a game. Minnesota shot 9-for-12 from the free throw line and 7-for-13 from beyond the arc.

It was the type of basketball game you’d expect to see in the WNBA Finals.

The Fever faces elimination again after a last-second loss to the Minnesota Lynx Friday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

“What has always bothered me is anytime women’s basketball gets attention, it’s been because of something negative”, notes ESPN Analyst Carolyn Peck earlier this week.

And from their star Tamika Catchings down through virtually every department head in the front office, it has been with the same cast of characters. Indiana, however, had to rely heavily on Shenise Johnson. “Two teams that had great offence and just delivering blows to each other”. “It is hard to realize it in the moment, but with her, we are witnessing greatness”. “I don’t think she’s been ineffective”.

Catchings knows that her team has faced this before and what it takes to win. “Looking forward to Sunday, but glad we were able to do it with this game being ours”. “We’ve got to focus on what we need to do to get better”, she said.

“They have a great thing going”, Reeve said. When it comes down to it, players out there are just playing, and making plays is what it’s all about. “I hope Kelly is sitting back and having a martini and enjoying all of it”. Minnesota now needs just one more win to be crowned WNBA champs for the third time in five seasons.

A Fever victory would pressure a decisive Game 5 Wednesday at Minneapolis (eight p.m., ESPN2).
