Good and bad news has emerged regarding Manchester United’s pursuit of Anderlecht wonderkid Youri Tielemans following a report the Red Devils have held talks for the player’s transfer-but so too have Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Tielemans is rightly considered one of the hottest prospects in European football and made his Champions League at the age of just 16 and Anderlecht face a battle to keep hold of the attacking midfielder.
And according to Goal, third party discussions began last week in London with United representatives over a possible move for Tielemans at the end of the season.
Tielemans won the Young Professional Footballer of the Year award in his home country for the 2013/14 season and the 2014/15 campaign, whilst also getting his hands on the Belgian Talent of the Year gong last year.
He was adjudged the Best Young Player in Belgium for the past two years, and has featured heavily for Belgium’s under-21s.
United have scouted Tielemans on a number of occasions and believe they are favourites for his signature as they look for a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick.

Tielemans would fit into that policy and is keen to play in the Premier League despite interest from teams across Europe.
