Proteas determined to win series three-nil

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin picked up three wickets to give India hope of an unlikely victory but the target was too easy for South Africa to chase down despite the early hiccups. We have put a lot of pressure on us to perform.

Miller, who is a regular with the IPL side Kings XI Punjab, said he is used to the conditions.

“We were one-down in the Test series in Sri Lanka, but we ended up winning the series”.

“It was because of the belief that we had. We are feeling a lot more at home”, he added. So it would be better if the cricket lovers keep this in mind and secure our cricket in the country.

Shastri also blamed the series loss to the lack of T20 cricket in the past year.

The former India all rounder said India now has a young team and the management is still figuring out ways to find the right combination. It was fantastic to see how well all the bowlers bowled. I don’t know if there will be a change or not because I am not part of the decision making.

“The last game was not a ideal game for us”.

The win meant South Africa take an unassailable 2-0 lead into the final T20 scheduled for Eden Gardens, in Kolkata, on Thursday. There was spin, there was pace and then we got wickets.

After a good knock in the opener, and an unfortunate run-out in the second, Virat Kohli would be eyeing runs at the Eden. “Maybe resting a few guys but I have got no idea about that as well”.

Having slumped to an embarrassing T20 series defeat against South Africa, limited overs captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that “one bad performance per year” serves him a timely reminder that one should not use “too much brain” in shortest format. This has been the quality of this team; they have stuck to the players who they believe can win the game. “So we need to find who suits it the best”. Our bowlers did that today.

Bottles are incidentally banned in most of the venues in India where water is supplied in pouches but an Odisha Cricket Association official said in Barabati Stadium the situation is different.

As much as Eden Gardens belongs to VVS Laxman for his epic 281 against Australia in that historic Test, it is also Harbhajan Singh’s spiritual home for the 13 wickets that he took in that particular match. “I think it’s important to back the players who are probably the best for the format”.
