Lionsgate to Adapt Z-Men Graphic Novel Into Film
The second issue of Z-Men has only just hit stores, but today Lionsgate announced that the studio is partnering with Double Take on a Z-Men film adaptation. We have TV shows like The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead, and iZombie, ads well as forthcoming movies like Patient Zero, Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, and the World War Z sequel, in addition to a host of zombie-centric movies recently released. The pair must discover what’s happening, while discovering that the zombie apocalypse is very, very real.

Already involved in a partnership with Take-Two Interactive software to turn its Borderlands game into a film, Lionsgate has now struck a new deal with the company’s comic-book offshoot Double Take to adapt graphic novel series Z-Men for the big screen. Double Take has taken full advantage of that fact and has figured out a whole series of comics set in the same time frame. Created by Jeff McComsey, Z-Men tells the story of government agents dealing with a zombie outbreak. “It is yet another example of the strong underlying intellectual property on which our film and television content is based”.

“We’re delighted to expand our relationship with our friends at Take-Two by partnering with their comic-book arm, Double Take, in bringing Z-Men to the big screen”, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Co-Chairs Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger said in a joint statement Tuesday.
