According to public records, Porter was booked into the Alachua County jail at 11:19 a.m. this morning.

The arrest report shows the victim was Porter’s girlfriend, who is 10-weeks pregnant.

Porter’s girlfriend denied the relationship, according to the report, and Porter later pointed a gun at her head and demanded she tell him the truth.

Later at 7:15 a.m. that same day, Porter began yelling at his girlfriend “about her being involved with his teammates” and fired a handgun in her direction with the bullet striking the wall where she was leaning. “He’s suspended indefinitely for obviously a choice”. The complaint in full is below. The victim told police that Porter was “enraged” and pacing back and forth across the floor.

While further information about the incident that led to Porter’s arrest isn’t yet available, the Gators made the right decision to suspend him immediately, likely until the situation is resolved.

Porter, a Jefferson High alumnus, is a key contributor on special teams.

I can’t imagine Porter remaining with – or returning to, depending on your perspective – Florida if this isn’t just a few freakish misunderstanding; four felony charges, all related to doing something dumb with a gun, should be more than enough to get Porter booted.

“The bullet struck the wall”, Mullins said. The victim told police she tried to text and call the other player so he could tell Porter his accusations were not true, but he did not answer.

Both the victim and Porter have been in a relationship since 2013, and the victim is ten weeks pregnant, which Porter already knew.

Officers found a. 45 caliber shell casing under a chair in the living room. The next day, Porter was contacted by police when riding in a vehicle with a friend. He was the passenger in a vehicle in which the driver was found to be in possession of a.45-caliber handgun.
