Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean Win At BET Hip-Hop Awards
Lamar, coming off his successful third studio album To Pimp a Butterfly, won awards for best lyricist, impact track and best hip-hop video for his single “Alright”.

The Atlanta rapper kicked off the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2015 with a opening performance of two of his biggest hits this year, “March Madness” and “Where Ya At” at Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park.
Rapper and producer Scarface was presented with the I Am Hip Hop award at the ceremony, which is BET’s version of a lifetime achievement gong. Big Sean’s wins included best collaboration for “Blessings” and best club banger “IDFWU”.
The rapper did not attend the ceremony, which was taped on October 9 but was broadcast in the USA today.
Newcomer Fetty Wap also made waves with track of the year for “Trap Queen” and the “Who Blew Up” award.
The prizes for best live performer and album of the year went to J. Cole for his record 2014 Forest Hills Drive.
Drake won a pair of awards, for MVP of the Year and Sweet 16: “Best Featured Verse” for his appearance on the remix of Fetty Wap’s “My Way”.
