Moon Knight, AKA ‘Marvel’s Batman’, Could Be Headed to Netflix
Netflix is proving to be a safe haven for Marvel when it comes to featuring street-level heroes.

According to Umberto Gonzalez, the rumour extraordinaire over at Heroic Hollywood, Marvel is actively planning to bring Moon Knight into the MCU fold, but as part of a Netflix-style TV series rather than a big-budget movie. But while Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the Defenders mini-series are still to follow, it’s widely assumed that Marvel is already thinking further down the road, and one of the industry’s top scoopers thinks he knows what might be next.
Marc Spector, also known as Moon Knight, is essentially the Marvel universe’s Bruce Wayne, so Netflix seems like an ideal place for the rich, violent, anti-hero’s story to unfold. Jessica Jones Season 1 will premiere next month, and if its as well received as Daredevil was, no doubt it will also earn a renewal.
While a few might consider Moon Knight an underdog pick for his own Netflix show, Gonzalez offered a simple explanation. Although Moon Knight is frequently compared to Batman due to their similar crimefighting methods and shadowy looks, there are more differences than similarities between the two vigilantes. Plus, he’s also an avatar of the Egyptian god, Khonshu, so there would be plenty of dense mythology to unpack. When Moon Knight came up in conversation, Gonzalez apprised them that he’d heard of a viable series for the night-walking, caped patroler, possibly in the vein of a backdoor pilot, à la Netflix’s take on the Punisher via Daredevil.
