Here’s Ronda Rousey’s Mom Calling Her Coach A ‘Bad Person’

Not only has Rousey become the face of the UFC, she’s become one of the biggest ambassadors for the UFC’s new anti-doping program, according to Novitzky.

“Ronda and I started talking throughout the summer, and I’ll say now that we are together”, he told The MMA Hour. She was winning before she ever met him.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Rousey dished on her personal struggles with body image. She probably won 99 percent of the judo matches she ever fought in. “I think that’s one really effective way to change the societal standard women are held to”.

“She had won the Junior Worlds when she was 17”. Not only does she seem absolutely serious about the role but she has a road map of how she will get to it. I think it’s bad that he uses her to lure people in…. “Somebody like that is a bad coach”.

Rousey trains with Traverdyan in Glendale, Calif. She is now preparing for UFC 193, where she will defend her UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship against Holly Holm on November 14 in Melbourne, Australia. And the reason I tell everybody, and I told Ronda, “I’m not going to be quiet about this anymore” – he’s a bad person, and people should not go there. “And if he wants to sue me, that’s my honest opinion”.

In fact, the 28-year-old says she planned to lose weight for a commercial shoot she did in the past, but chose to do just the opposite thanks to someone’s critical commentary about her body. That probably goes without saying. There have been other criticisms of Tarverdyan levied over the last few years, and his cornering advice has been derided at times as well; indeed, Rousey does what Rousey does, and Tarverdyan’s influence on her skill set may be minuscule. Finding the right teacher with a suitable personality type is not an easy task, and it’s hard to argue with results in this case.
