Three victims have been identified as 17-year-old Anthony Ramos, 18-year-old Oscar Gonzalez, and 15-year-old Jayleen Ciriaco.
Three teens are dead after a crash of two vehicles involved in a street race. District spokesman Jorge Quintana said grief counselors have been sent to two San Jose Unified schools, but did not disclose the second school or which crash victim attended it. He did say Ciriaco and Ramos were not district students.
“He was a good kid” Martinez said. Investigators said the vehicle took out a light pole and then slammed into a tree.
As the cars sped west on Santa Clara Street near 22nd Street about 10:53 p.m. Tuesday, the Honda lost traction and spun out of control, said police Sgt. Enrique Garcia.
Two of the passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, one died later at the hospital and the other is in critical condition at a hospital, police said.
There were males and and one girl inside the Honda, Domingo said.
The gold Honda Accord was an unreported stolen auto taken from San Jose.
One person died at the hospital, while the other suffered critical, possibly life-threatening injuries. The fourth teen, who was also in the Honda, was in serious condition.
