And now for a ridiculous moment you can experience within the new Witcher 3 expansion, Hearts of Stone.

On the eve of launch, CD Projekt Red has announced that the limited edition copies of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt’s Hearts of Stone expansion – originally planned to ship today in tandem with the DLC’s launch – will hit retail shelves “several days” later than expected. Paired with a few Nilfgaardian guantlets, and with Geralt’s muscular, scarred arms on display, it gives him the look of a man who would read you poetry before smashing your skull into a rock.

More Witcher 3 goodness though. The download size of Hearts of Stone on PC is 2.3GB (GOG and Steam), on Origin it is approximately 4GB, on PlayStation 4 it is 2.4GB (depending on your SKU) and on Xbox One it is 5GB.

Hearts of Stone isn’t just about defeating powerful monsters or stopping an immortal bandit captain. As you would suspect from CD Projekt Red, the writing is absolutely top-notch, with O’Dimm in particular being one of the best-written characters I have ever seen in a video game. With DLC in the past that requires people to beat the game, it’s a good thing that The Witcher 3 doesn’t do this. Being a woman, she is of course a love interest for Geralt. It’s the first time I faced a truly unknown entity, and despite O’Dimm acting as my ally, I just knew that he could never be trusted.

Gamers will need to try to complete a contract from the mysterious Man of Glass, while being caught in a thick tangle of deceit, with access to the new Runeword abilities. While The Wild Hunt was the conclusion to an epic, climactic saga, Hearts of Stone is simply another story in the life of Witcher Geralt. Surely you can’t turn your nose up at that.
