Dad attacked daycare owner after he was denied kids

Photos of McClure’s pummeled face were displayed in a startling photo on a gofundme page set up by Osterwyk-McKnight to seek donations for medical bills and lost wages, among other expenses.

This is Martha McClure the daycare owner that got assaulted by Francis Jackson while protecting the children at her daycare.

Martha McClure was caring for the children-all under the age of four-when their father, 31-year-old Francis Joseph Jackson, showed up at the daycare facility with an “unidentified woman”, the AP reports.

McClure was aware Jackson’s parental rights had been suspended and that he was not allowed contact with the children.

Deputy county attorney James Lapotka wrote in an affidavit that Jackson, 31, “has been in an ongoing CPS case for the past three years” and was served court papers saying the agency had legal custody of his children. Jackson, then, became enraged and began hurling children’s toys, which included a small tricycle, at the dividing windows in an effort to get in. Her sister-in-law tells the AP she is “still struggling with double vision”.

The daycare owner, Martha McClure, tells MTN News she is now recovering at home after having eye surgery to fix her orbital socket because of the beating.

“She treats every child like [they are] her own”, Osterwyk-McKnight, adding that McClure is by nature a “very protective” and “caring” person. A female who was with him bashed McClure in the face with a snow shovel.

The two attackers fled, without the children, and McClure was treated at a hospital for her injuries. The father, who reportedly smelled of alcohol upon his arrival to the daycare center and was asked to leave, had been previously barred from seeing the children.

Officials in Pend Oreille County in Washington say Jackson waived extradition Tuesday.
