US, Russian defense officials to hold more talks on Syria
US and Russian fighter jets flew within just 10 or 20 miles of each other in the skies over Syria on Saturday, USA military officials confirmed.

It has instead limited military contacts with Moscow to basic air safety, holding a third round of talks on Wednesday. “Even as we continue to disagree on Syria policy, we should be able to at least agree on making sure our airmen are as safe as possible”.
On Wednesday, a Russian fighter jet approached a US warplane in Syrian airspace for identification purposes, as it sought to put to rest the fears of mid-air collision that the USA has been anxious about. “The USA has been there for a year and a half, and we have seen not one bullet from them, nor have we seen anyone getting killed by them”.
Unilateral efforts to fight worldwide terrorism won’t achieve results and a broad coalition is needed to counter what many countries recognized as a fundamental threat at the United Nations general assembly last month, he said. It comes about a year after the USA begin airstrikes in that country against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
Ashton Carter said Russian Federation is wrapping itself in a “shroud of isolation” through its actions in Ukraine and Syria, as the two world powers trade blame for escalating tensions. But Mr. Putin said Tuesday military cooperation should go beyond the current technical talks to avoid clashes over Syria.
The USA has criticized Russia’s bombing campaign, saying the Kremlin should alter its strategy.
Russian Federation described the shelling as “a terrorist attack”. “So it’s not particularly surprising to me that President Putin would resort, in a few desperation, to try to send the second-highest ranking official in the Russian government to the United States to try to convince us to join them”.

Seemingly undeterred by the previous day’s blunder, Moussa then showed another visual allegedly mapping the courses of Russia’s missiles from a naval base in the Caspian Sea to Syria, where the Russian army is claiming to be targeting ISIS militants. “The rebels have suffered several reversals to IS in northern Aleppo and are caught between IS and the forces of the regime”, said Maamun al-Khatib, editor of the rebel Shabha news agency in Aleppo.
