A Florida man in a motorized wheelchair was charged with driving under the influence after blocking lanes of traffic on a bridge just after midnight on Tuesday, according to police. Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Ronny Scott Hicks is seen on February 9, 2015.
Hicks was arrested for what could be his third DUI in a decade, but according to attorney Jason Hicks-no relation-the wheelchair DUI conviction is unlikely. But at first, the judge felt that amount was too high for a DUI in a motorized wheelchair.
Ronny Scott Hicks, 54, was allegedly obstructing traffic on a bridge on Monday night, WKMG reports.
When they arrived, police said they noticed an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the Hicks, who had slurred speech.
He also refused treatment for the gash across his forehead.

He is being held on a $5,000 bail.
