Arab wounds 4 Jews in north Israel stabbing attack

An Islamic State-affiliated website posted a video purporting to show a Muslim preacher in Gaza waving a knife in a fiery Friday sermon, urging Palestinians to carry out attacks in groups and warning “the Jews” that “Mohammed’s army” is coming from Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

“We are doing this as a temporary emergency measure so that we can examine the implementation, and if there will be a need, we will make the law even harsher”, he said in a statement.

Israel said it had targeted “two Hamas weapon manufacturing facilities” in response to two rocket launches at Israel yesterday, as well as a number of attempts by Palestinians to violently break into Israel from Gaza. The attack near the town of Hadera in northern Israel occurred in the evening. A total of three policemen were taken to hospital, with one in serious condition, she said. Both of the attackers were killed by police, authorities said.

The wave of attacks began weeks ago in Jerusalem and has since spread across Israel, while violent protests have erupted in the West Bank and along the Gaza border – where nine Palestinians, including two children, were killed in clashes over the weekend.

Hundreds more Palestinians were injured in clashes in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza, the Red Crescent added.

He said that the 31-year-old Palestinian was carrying handwritten notes supporting Islamic martyrs – those who die while carrying out jihadist attacks.

Udi Levy, the head of the task force created to combat settler violence, said that attacks have in the past year moved away from smaller scale attacks like vandalisations and the uprooting of olive orchards, and have instead tended towards physical attacks against Palestinians with the intent of causing harm.
