Reelz comes to the rescue of homeless Miss USA pageant

Thursday, July 2, 2015- REELZ today announced they have acquired the rights to exclusively telecast the 2015 MISS USA® Pageant on Sunday, July 12 at 8:00 PM ET and PT. The broadcast was estimated to be worth million in supporting documents that Metro Council members were provided when they voted to approve a $280,000 allocation to the pageant.

“As one of only a few independent networks, we decided to exercise our own voice and committed ourselves to bringing this pageant to American viewers everywhere”, the statement continued.

Jones said Trump damaged the pageant and its tradition of convening countries for an event that showcases “friendship, unity and breaking down cultural barriers”.

“We have 50 of the most lovely women you’ve ever seen right now in Louisiana and they have been abandoned by NBC and abandoned by Univision”, Trump said. “Baton Rouge is the city, the stage, the place, and we’ll continue to operate in a world-class way, even though one person has said something that is controversial”.

Trump’s depiction of Mexican immigrants as “rapists” and “drug-dealers” drew widespread condemnation from Hispanic advocacy groups.

For now, the aim is still to ensure the Miss U.S. contestants and TV cameras stay focused on the positives that Baton Rouge has to offer, Arrigo said.

“The Hubbards and Reelz are completely, in no way, endorsing Trump’s comments”. The company, a joint venture between Trump and NBCUniversal, also owns the Miss Universe and Miss Teen US pageants.

Donald Trump unleashed in a live televised political debate. “There are so many more people involved”. So far the event has lost co-hosts Cheryl Burke and Thomas Roberts of MSNBC as well as Roselyn Sanchez, who had been set to co-host Univision’s telecast of the pageant.

The tycoon is still under fire for his comments about Mexican immigrants last month.

By Tuesday, the aftershocks had begun to spread into another, lucrative part of Trump’s empire, as the Ricky Martin Foundation announced it would withdraw a golf tournament from a Trump-owned property. Pageant organizers say, at a minimum, the show will be broadcast online. “Nothing has changed on our end”.

The pageant will also be streamed on Miss USA’s website, but it’s shaping up to be quite different from what was originally planned.
