Flocking to Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Park, individuals opposed to burning the US flag waited for the “Disarm NYPD” group to arrive.

“So, we will burn the American flag, a symbol of oppression and genocide, and in the same action, dismantle our stunted, cynical expectations of what is possible in the world”, the organization concluded.

“…many people are rather offended by our decision to burn the American flag”. PRECURSOR TO TERROR, read the chyron below one of at least five different segments over two hours.

The group describe the Stars and Stripes as a “symbol of oppression” in league with the Confederate flag. We must keep in mind that the Confederacy only lasted four years.

Golden had wanted the demonstration stopped, but not just for sentimental reasons. However, Meghan Lalor of the Parks Department responded that “the event is not permitted by Parks. If you’re going to start a fire, you need a permit”, he said.

This decision apparently didn’t sit well with the producers at Fox News, who devoted three segments to the small protest because it could be a prelude to Fourth of July terror attack – or because the network’s been on the wrong side of a flag-related issue for a few weeks now and would rather viewers forget about that.

“As a proud American, I was disheartened to learn that the American flag was burned tonight in historic Fort Greene Park”.

“I think it’s appalling, disgraceful and that it shouldn’t take place”, said Golden. “I salute the many pro-Americans who showed up and stood tall in the name of our rights and liberties”.

Even far-left Mayor Bill de Blasio wasn’t pleased with the flag-burning.

“This protest is a divisive, disrespectful way to express views, and doesn’t reflect the values of our city”.

The group said that it does “not believe the ideals of America are anything to be revered”.
