The Davao City mayor said his family was the main reason for his decision, citing in particular his eldest daughter Sara who persistently urged him not to run for the top post. “If she does not, the option to run again for mayor is on the table”, he said. “You have done more than enough for our country”.

Earlier, Go told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that the mayor was not running for president but would instead seek reelection. She posted a photo having her hair shaved saying even without money, political machinery or even having the possibility not to win she is calling her father to just do it.
Several Duterte supporters have also shaved their heads, following the lead of Duterte’s daughter, Sara.

Yesterday, Sara replied to a netizen who alleged that she is selfish for not supporting the call for her father’s presidential bid.

While Duterte has already made it clear that he will not run for president, his supporters are still hoping that he will change his mind on or before Friday, the last day of filing of COCs.
