Tag Heuer’s Connected boasts a running list of firsts: It will be the first smartwatch to have Intel hardware running inside the watch; It will be the first smartwatch to last longer than a day on a single charge (reportedly up to 40 hours). The image also shows off that Tag Heuer’s first smartwatch will be a more sleek version of the Carrera series of watches, which was previously mentioned by the company’s CEO Jean-Claude Biver. Tradition meets innovation, craftsmanship meets savoire-faire, and bold style meets breakthrough technology. “The clock is ticking to the major breakthrough”, the website reads.

From the image, we can see a metallic-surfaced watch with a protruding side button, probably to control the Android OS.

Pricing is expected to be in the region of $1,400, which would make it the most expensive (non-customized or bejeweled) smartwatch on the market.

We’ll just have to wait until 9 November for all the facts, so stay tuned. He has maintained his view that TAG Heuer can produce watch pieces that can stand the test of time, while the Apple Watch will serve as a good sales promotion for the smartwatch industry.

Whether or not that justifies such a hefty price tag (especially when there are other, much cheaper options out there) is between you and your wife.

Tag, Intel, and Google have all been talking about the watch since the beginning of the year, but the tweet gives us our first glimpse at the watch’s design. But the Californian company also offers the ultra-pricey Edition, which starts at $10,000 (£8,000) and runs to an eye-watering $17,000 (£13,500).

The vast majority of Apple’s smartwatch sales come from the Apple Watch Sport and the regular Apple Watch, which retail for between $349 (£299 in the UK) and $1,099 (£949). Biver praised and thanked Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) for popularizing luxury smart watches. The luxury watch brand has shared a teaser of a new watch that will be announced on November 9.
