A series of small earthquakes has been rattling the San Ramon area.

Over 250 people reported feeling a few shaking in the area.

The quakes on the Calaveras Fault were centered near Crow Canyon Country Club, near the San Ramon-Danville border. The largest of those earthquakes were measured at 2.9 at 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday and a 3.0 quake around 8:14 a.m.

Strong earthquakes with an epicenter off the coast can trigger tsunamis, depending on the size and type of the fault movement.

A swarm of small earthquakes that have shaken this city this week continued Thursday morning with two more shakers.

On August 24, 2014, a 6.1-magnitude natural disaster in the North Bay killed one person, injured more than 200 others and caused millions of dollars in damage. For example, for every 10 3.0 magnitude earthquakes, you should have at least 4.0 magnitude quake.
