Man fatally shot outside Comedy Store on Sunset Strip in West Hollywood
Authorities have identified 23-year-old Richard James as the man fatally shot outside the Comedy Store in West Hollywood earlier this week. The Los Angeles Times reported that the venue was hosting a Roast Battle between competing comedians on Tuesday night; the show was interrupted by the shooting and then called off.

Witnesses said the victim was sitting outside on a patio when the gunman approached the victim and began firing his weapon. James’ city of residence was not known, he said.
Deputy Juanita Navarre says gunfire was reported shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Anyone with information was asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department at 323-890-5500.
