Quaid is wanted in California on charges related to a 2010 incident in which he and his wife entered a Santa Barbara, California, building that the couple contends they legally owned at the time.

The judge also transferred Evi Quaid’s case to Vermont’s Franklin County, where her husband was arraigned Monday, so future court appearances for the couple can be done together.

Randy Quaid, the brother of actor Dennis Quaid, is known for the 1973 film “The Last Detail”, “Independence Day“, and the “National Lampoon’s Vacation” franchise, among others.

“They follow us, they tail us, they tag our mobile phone, they hack our computer”, Quaid said in a 2010 interview. They claimed killers were after them, describing them as lawyers and accountants, who allegedly caused late actor Heath Ledger’s death back in 2008, when the actor overdosed on prescription drugs. He faces charges of vandalism, unauthorized entry into a dwelling and failure to appear for a court appearance in California.

Both Randy and Evi Quaid appeared in court for hearings.

Randy Quaid was arrested in May after missing a meeting with the Immigration and Refugee Board. Evi Quaid also is charged with impeding Santa Barbara sheriff’s deputies.

Quaid stated the constructing was their very own residence and that after a failed try to promote it, they nonetheless owned the property. “I meant no disrespect to Canadian border services”.

The judge did not rule on Quaid’s possible extradition to California because prosecutors were unable to obtain the necessary legal documents due to the Columbus Day holiday. But here’s hoping you get kicked by a metaphorical mule and can come back, too.
