Yamaha R25 is expected to launch in India this year.

Total sales through June for the company were 2.41 million cars, a 3.2 percent drop from a year earlier.

The country’s largest auto maker Maruti Suzuki registered a marginal increase of 1.6 per cent at 1,02,626 units. This is a marginal growth as compared to June 2014, when the company sold 5,41,594 units.

Domestic sales of Yamaha for June 2015 stood at 51,432 units as against 40,666 units sold in June 2014, which is a 26% increase.

TKM said sales were low as the company’s production was limited due to planned annual maintenance between May 29 and June 6. Its new products such as GenX Nano, Bolt and Zest continued to attract buyers.

The sales of the passenger cars in June 2015 were higher by 44% at 8,516, compared to 5,933 in June 2014. Overseas sales declined 2.2 percent to 345,224 units, while deliveries at home climbed 4.8 percent.

In June, Maruti and Hyundai reported single digit growth, while Honda and Tata saw double digit growth. Exports in the month under review zoomed by 32 percent at 5,047 units.

On the other hand, sales of M&M declined by six percent at 36,134 units.

The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) sold 15,880 units in June 2015 as against 18,635 units during June 2014.

In what can be termed as positive news for the commercial vehicle segment, growth is gradually filtering down from the M&HCV market (which has seen continuous growth for the past 10 months) to the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment. Overall, Tata’s sales totaled 12,046 units for June 2015, up 9.52% (June 2014: 10,999).
