Ronny Scott Hicks (54) was arrested after road users complained about him blocking traffic on a bridge with his mobility scooter.

Ronny Scott Hicks learned the hard way Monday night that it is, in fact, possible to get arrested for driving under the influence even if you’re not in a auto.

Hicks didn’t follow instructions and refused to give a breath test, according to the report.

Hicks was charged with felony DUI, his third violation in three years early Tuesday. Since he was also operating a motorized wheelchair, the 54-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence. WTSP reports Hicks has “two prior convictions for DUI”. It couldn’t immediately be determined whether those offenses were committed in his wheelchair or in a more traditional vehicle.

Hicks is being held on a $5,000 bail at the Brevard County Jail in Sharpes.
