Almost 72 passengers from Pakistan have crossed over to India by road after they could not travel by rail post the cancellation of Samjhauta Express, officials said on Monday.

The train will depart from Lahore for India on schedule on Thursday morning, officials said.
The train then returned to the Lahore Railway Station and the Pakistani authorities provided stay to the passengers at the station and adjacent hotels. The departure of the Samjhauta Express was yesterday cancelled again on the same ground.
Fourteen stranded Pakistanis, who were scheduled to return home by the Samjhota Express, arrived in Lahore on Tuesday from Delhi by the Dosti Bus.
India has agreed to resume Samjhota Express’ Operation after Foreign Office of Pakistan indulged into the matter on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s commands, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
A spokesman of Pakistan Railways told Radio Pakistan that the Indian Railway authorities have confirmed resumption of the service.
Pakistani officials had last week called back the train from the Wagah border after Indian officials had cited potential security risks due to protests by farmers.

In a statement, the High Commission said it is providing assistance and food to the stranded nationals.
