Blast outside MNA Amjad Khosa’s office takes seven lives leaving 13 injured

According to our correspondent, the blast occurred at dera (local political office) of MNA Sardar Amjad Farooq Khosa in Taunsa Sharif town of Punjab’s Dera Ghazi Khan district.

According to Ghulam Mubashir Maikan, the District Police Officer (DPO) in DG Khan, at least seven people were killed and eight injured in the blast.

Khosa was not present in the office when the attack took place. About 20 to 25 persons were present in the meeting but MNA, Amjad Farooq Khosa was not present at the time of occurrence of blast.

The explosion took place at noon at the office of Amjad Farooq Khosa, a member of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

He said, “I am not in a position to explain whether it was a suicidal attack or a bomb was planted there”.

Eyewitnesses said two attackers drove into the PML-N leader s office and detonated their explosives.

The toll from the attack could rise further as the condition of several of the injured was critical, said the hospital sources. Condemning the attack as an act of cowardice, the MNA pointed out that he did not receive any threat or alert prior to the blast.

PML-N’s local leader Akhter Tangwani has been identified among deceased people.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Punjab Governor Rafiq Rajwana and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned the attack and expressed grief over the loss of lives in the blast.
