‘Walking Dead’ Debut Down; Still Devours 14.6M Viewers
More “Walking Dead”: In case you missed it, here’s my recap of the Season 6 premiere, which I thought was scary good. Aside from the usual katana swinging, arrow shooting, and flesh oozing viewers have come to expect, there will also be a few more in-fighting, a revision of the Alexandria hierarchy, and a more comprehensive introduction to Morgan’s character. When a part of the cliff eroded away under the weight of one of the big rigs, it led to the start of the new season for the viewers. That is a lot of people, over six times the number brought in by Family Guy, which was The Walking Dead’s closest non-zombie-related cable competitor on Sunday. “He’s still a bit of mystery in place but the Talking Dead is effectively using Morgan as a man who clings to what’s left of humanity-or the notion of it”, it continues. Having a fictional space where other people aren’t really human lets us work through hard ethical dilemmas – zombie fiction gives us that space. In spite of all the arguments against Rick’s style of leadership, this was an effective plan.

Although Rick’s “zombie parade” initially worked, the episode then ended with a disturbing spine-chiller. All this means is that there’s gonna be walkers causing mayhem nearly all year round in 2016, something sure to please the millions of us who tune in to Rick and the team’s adventures every week. The episode ends in an aerial long shot, as the herds of walkers take a sharp turn toward Alexandria.
Are you excited for “The Walking Dead” Season 6? Deadline reports that shares of AMC Networks, the company that owns AMC, closed 5.1%, mainly due to concerns over the ratings for The Walking Dead premiere.
