Lynn Haven United Methodist Church has opened their ninth annual Pumpkin Patch to the public.
The Pumpkin Patch has two locations, one at the church on Transmitter Road and another on Highway 77 across from the Dairy Queen. Operating annually from mid-September through Halloween Day, the patch sells pumpkins grown on a Navajo reservation in New Mexico. Each truck load will deliver about 42,000 pounds of pumpkins. He has coordinated the pumpkin sales for the past 17 years. It also provides funds to help fund youth program trips.
“It started off to be away to support youth ministries, but now it is for all church missions”, said Baugher, adding that church membership now consists of mostly older members.
