“We are looking to do something positive”.

It was a star-studded turnout at the bash, with everyone from singer Charli XCX to panto legend Christopher Biggins showing their support for the charity, which helps vulnerable young people combating drug and alcohol abuse.

The patriarch also hit out at the makers of the film Amy, describing the documentary as “very hurtful”.

Ronson and Winehouse struck up a friendship after they collaborated on her second album in 2006, before her death in July 2011. “It was a great opportunity that Asif Kapadia had and he didn’t grab it”, said Winehouse.

“Everyone had heard that rubbish”. “Let’s hear something new about Amy”.

The Uptown Funk producer worked with the late singer on her platinum-selling album Black To Back and now he can work with her again in spirit through the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

“Amy’s music touched so many and also helped them – and now through the Foundation, it continues to help people”.

There was an auction and performances from artists who have benefitted from the foundation and more established names like Foxes and Conor Maynard.

But he warned that it is a battle for charities to raise the funds they desperately need – and said it would be easier to raise cash for a cat or donkey sanctuary than for young people battling addiction. We are doing a lot of work that the Government and local authorities should be doing.

He also offered an insight into his daughter’s charitable streak, telling how she once found a burglar in her home and offered to cook him dinner.

“We’re delighted that @MarkRonson, @Nas and @SaLaAMReMi will be confirmed as Patron’s (sic) of the Amy Winehouse Foundation tomorrow night #AWFGala”, reads a statement released via the charity’s Twitter.com account.

“Somebody broke into her flat and she ended up feeding him and looking after him, he was a burglar, not the smartest thing to do”.

“He got Amy, I don’t know how they ever got any work done because they were giggling the whole time and it is just a privilege to have him on board as a patron”.

“I think she would be a fan of the fact that young kids are getting musical training and the work that it does she would definitely be a fan of”.
