Eagles’ Kelly says he hasn’t heard from USC AD
“It’s an unfortunate part of the game”, Kelly said of the speculation.

But Kelly, who said he hasn’t heard from USC, has no plans to leave. And yes, continue is the right word because Thursday’s questions about USC weren’t the first.
He hopes to become like the Giants’ Tom Coughlin, a former Boston College coach, “where I win enough games that the speculation ends”.
Kelly said he understands the speculation (“We’re not successful, we’re not winning, I came from college, I’m going to go back to college”, according to the Inquirer) but that doesn’t necessarily make it true.
“I answered it the same way a year ago and I answered it the same way my first year here”, the coach said.
So here’s a suggestion: No more asking him.
The Eagles are struggling at 2-3.
He has always steadfastly maintained that he is not interested in returning to college and plans to remain with the Eagles.
The New Hampshire native cemented his reputation as an audacious, inventive play-caller and recruiter in his four seasons as the Ducks Head Coach from 2009-2012. Then, there were accusations hurled his way by former players, namely McCoy, that he’s a bit of a racist.
“It was a quality control position”, Kelly told CSNPhilly.com. “I wish him the best out of the whole thing and that’s how I look at the whole thing”. He came from a successful college program at Oregon. He also noted it’s not a distraction for the Eagles. “What do you want to talk about?” It will be the fifth time Kelly and Coughlin have faced one another, with the Eagles prevailing in three of those meetings.

“One of my assistant coaches was a good friend and worked with Chip and we discussed this many times before, but I thought he was an outstanding young coach that would be an excellent addition to our staff and it just didn’t work out that way”, Coughlin said on his conference call Wednesday. Heck, owner Jeff Lurie might even do it for him.
