Clinton aide testifies before House Benghazi panel
She won’t face questions about her controversial work for Teneo, a strategic consulting firm, or the Clinton Foundation while also serving as a “special government employee” for Clinton at the State Department.

Emily Schillinger, spokeswoman for House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, called the ad “a classic Clinton attempt to distract from her record of putting classified information at risk and jeopardizing our national security, all of which the FBI is investigating”.
The Benghazi panel interviewed two other top Clinton aides, Cheryl Mills and Jake Sullivan, last month.
Abedin – who’s married to disgraced former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner – has been a frequent target of conservatives’ efforts to discredit Clinton.
The Benghazi panel is under intense scrutiny after two House Republicans have described the GOP-led committee as partisan and aimed at hurting Clinton’s presidential bid, a characterization the panel’s chairman rejects.
Committee aides said Abedin was called to answer questions about the events leading up to, during and after the attacks, as well as executive branch activities and efforts to comply with congressional inquiries into them.
“He has brought his oversize personality and his reality television experience to the highest level of American politics and seems to be getting a very positive response among a large part of the Republican electorate”, Clinton said.
Garcia also said that the secretary of state will continue fighting for the students, teachers, and those who make a living for their families, stating that she understands that a strong economy starts with a good education.
The aide Clinton once described as a second daughter, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, arrived shortly after 10:00 a.m.
She said her top strategist was saying that “there does come a point by which a decision needs to be made”, but insisted she was not rushing the vice president. Her lawyers have said she did not. “We’re not peddling the same old failed policies of trickle-down economics and let the corporations do what they want and cut taxes on the wealthy”.
Hillary Clinton returned to New Hampshire on Friday, just days after the first Democratic primary debate.
Nick Merrill, a spokesman for Clinton’s campaign, said it remains unclear why the committee is focused on Abedin, “given her lack of knowledge about the events surrounding Benghazi”.
And while Clinton has taken heat for shifting positions on a few issues – most recently tacking to the left by opposing the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal she helped advance as secretary of state – she reiterated that she has not changed her positions for political reasons. “I have the same values, I have the same principles”, she said.
