During the interview, an overenthusiastic translator seemed to pick up that Radiohead’s new album is complete, and that a tour is to be planned.
Speaking to a Russian radio station, Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood confirmed that the band is close to being finished with their ninth album. “We hope we’ll get it right soon, and after that we’ll start planning the next year’s tour”, Greenwood was quoted by the outcome of Sound as saying.
“Lots has been recorded”, he said of the new record, explaining that the band were “about to go through it all to see if it’s any good”.
Later on, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke threw in his two cents, cheekily calling on his bandmate to “take responsibility” for checking his facts.
If it indeed materializes, this will reportedly be the band’s first album since their 2011 “The King of Limbs” release.
Back in September, collaborator Robert Ziegler has tweeted pictures of the band in the studio including images which show the band working with a full string orchestra.

It has been almost three years since Radiohead last toured, but according to a recent interview with guitarist Jonny Greenwood it won’t be long until the Brits hit the road again.
