Guard Goran Dragic, Heat agree on 5-year deal

Dragic didn’t appreciate being asked to play off the ball with the Suns, and given his skill set, it’s hard to blame him.

An insider said, that all-Star point guard on Thursday accepted a one-year free-agent deal to return to the Miami Heat.

Wade released the following statement shortly after the news broke. Despite losing Chris Bosh to injury shortly after, Dragic played well, averaging 16.6 points with 5.3 assists, 3.4 rebounds and shooting. He found out the Heat still agree.“Money-wise, I thought I did the best I could for myself and my family, and I also had the Heat in mind, ” Wade said. “Obviously it’s all about putting yourself in position to be able to compete”.

I love Riley living large, loving a splash, dreaming big. Since missing the playoffs last season, the Heat have gotten point guard Goran Dragic to re-sign for five years and $90 million and had talented rookie Justise Winslow fall in its lap at the No. 10 pick in the draft. “I am from Robbins, Illinois”.

Wade will become a free agent Tuesday at 9:01 p.m. PDT, electing to pass on a $16.1 million option for next season. He has indicated in the past that he definitely wants to bring Dwyane Wade back, and from a fan standpoint that would be a wise move.

This latest agreement was also finalized in a seemingly-usual long distance finish for the Heat. That’s what I was focused on. He’s left money on the table over the course of his career-$25 million since 2010, by one accounting-but the Heat obviously aren’t going out of their way to make good right now.

What’s next: Miami president Pat Riley managed to secure a meeting with LaMarcus Aldridge on Thursday night, though with Wade’s salary on the books it’s hard to imagine how the Heat could clear enough space to sign Aldridge outright. All the angst was for naught.

Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade will be staying in South Florida according to multiple media reports.

As is the case every year, there are a lot of stories to watch during the National Basteball Association Free Agency period, and one of the most intriguing this summer is the saga between the Miami Heat and Dwyane Wade.

UNDATED (AP) – Three-time All-Pro tight end Antonio Gates of San Diego will be suspended the first four games of the 2015 season along with New York Jets defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson and Dallas linebacker Rolando McClain for violating National Football League drug policies. We all know that Wade would never leave the Heat to begin with.

Dwyane Wade will likely be back in a Miami Heat uniform next year
