Willy was scheduled to be re-evaluated by medical staff Friday with what the CFL team is calling an upper-body injury.

Willy’s status for the Bombers next game, Friday against the Montreal Alouettes, is unknown at this time and head coach Mike O’Shea will provide an update on Monday.

Willy left the game with 20 seconds remaining in the first quarter with a suspected head injury after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from Ticats defensive end Adrian Tracy. “There wasn’t anything malicious behind it”. “You hate to see anyone go down like that”.

The Tiger-Cats had a 38-13 lead at halftime.

After Mike Daly’s first career interception, Zach Collaros tossed his first TD of the season to Terrence Toliver from 3 yards out on third and goal to give Hamilton a 10-7 advantage. “I just hope he gets back soon”.

Seconds later, Brandon Banks returned a punt for a 68 yard touchdown and a 17-7 Hamilton lead heading into the second quarter.

Hamilton’s first offensive drive took them to the Winnipeg 12 yard line, but the Cats had to settle for a Justin Medlock 19 yard field goal.

The Bombers are 1-0 after opening their 2015 campaign with a victory last week in Regina against the Saskatchewan Roughriders while the Ticats, defending East Division champs, are 0-1 after falling on a last-second field goal in Calgary versus the Stampeders. “So I give credit to the other 11 guys that put up a good wall for me to get to get to the touchdown”.

“Two interceptions returned for touchdowns – that’s 14 points on me”, said Brohm who completed 16-of-28 pass attempts for 146 yards.

Close to 27,000 tickets have been sold for tonight’s game, short of capacity at Investors Group Field (approximately 33,500).
