Wenger: Walcott form vindicates no big-name signing
“(I am committed) as well to leaving the club in a position where it can do even better when I leave.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has dropped a hint that he could be ready to leave the club in 2017 when his current contract expires, according to the Daily Mirror. I am the first person to agree that it is not enough.
“So I think we know well how to develop the strikers”.
The Frenchman divided his stint at the helm of Arsenal into three phases, branding the initial 1996-2005 era as his easiest time with the EPL giants.
The retired Man United and England full-back has labelled Wenger as arrogant for not signing a suitable replacement for Patrick Vieira and, ahead of the victory over his former club, Neville said Arsenal need to study their opposition more before fixtures – something Wenger rebuffed with a shrug.
And if he can fire them to the league title this season, then maybe we will be seeing him cast in bronze outside the Emirates… It became much more hard because we face more competition and because we were under restricted finances and the target was to stay at the top of the league and to qualify for Champions League every year to repay our debt back.
“At the start of the season, I faced questions from everybody: ‘why don’t you buy a central striker?’ So sometimes you have to have strong beliefs and show the players as well that you believe in them in that position”, he said.
Wenger says that the England worldwide is now back to his best after putting together a number of good performances in his favoured role.
Asked about the comments prior to the resumption of Arsenal’s season against Watford following the two-week worldwide break, Wenger goaded Neville with a sarcastic response before dismissing the “ridiculous” comments made by the United favourite.
“We see that the numbers of chances created, shots given away to our opponents, allow us to believe we have made big steps, strides forward. That means the trend is right”, he said. “Be capable to win the big games, show that level of urgency in every single game and show the consistency we have shown since the start of 2015”, he added.

“You can sense from the Manchester United game that if we continue to play like that we can beat anyone, we really can”.
