Less than three days after putting in a dominant performance over the New York Red Bulls to secure a first-ever postseason berth, Toronto FC looked to still be hungover from the midweek celebrations in a listless 2-0 loss to the visiting Columbus Crew on Saturday afternoon.

The top two teams in the East receive byes into the Conference semifinals, while the third- and fourth-place teams will have home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. “It’s ideal if you get a little time, a week, to prepare for them and make sure certain communication is clear”.

Toronto FC “s Sebastian Giovinco, left, exchanges words with Columbus Crews” Michael Parkhurst at the final whistle of an MLS soccer game in Toronto, Saturday, October 17, 2015. Kamara, too, will miss the game after being carded in the 69th minute, meaning his season total of 22 goals scored will at best enable him to share the Golden Boot award with Giovinco. “He could’ve given the cards to anybody but he gave it to me, he chose to end my season that way”.

“Hopefully he appreciates what I do because I certainly appreciate what he does”.

The Argentine striker has formed a lethal partnership with former Premier League misfit Kei Kamara for the MLS club, and scored his seventh goal of the season with this glorious lob over Toronto keeper Joe Bendik.

A cagey first half came to life when Findlay’s header off a corner hit the post, allowing Columbus to escape unscathed after a spell of pressure from Toronto. The 23-year-old Canadian is expected to be in the lineup for next Sunday’s regular season finale in Montreal against the Impact.
