Rosario Dawson will voice Batgirl in ‘Lego Batman’
It should be no surprise, then, that she’s been cast as Batgirl, AKA Barbara Gordon in the upcoming LEGO Batman.

Barbara Gordon is Commissioner Gordon’s daughter, a PhD in library science (for a few reason) who ultimately begins to fight crime under the moniker Batgirl.
THR reports that Dawson will join Will Arnett as Batman, and Michael Cera as Robin, and Zack Galifanakis as The Joker. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the masterminds behind the Lego movie franchise, are producing this one, as well.
Chris McKay is directing the film and it will be written bu Seth Grahame-Smith. Suffice it to say, the comic book and voice acting worlds have been very kind to her. In that regard, her experience in both areas makes her more than qualified to take on an iconic DC role on the silver screen (even in animation). Dawson is also no stranger to voicing DC heroes having played Wonder Woman in the animated Justice League: Throne of Atlantis.

The LEGO Batman Movie is slated to hit theaters on February 10, 2017. However, in the meantime, The LEGO Batman Movie sounds like it will be the movie fans want to check out to not just to see Batmans inner struggle humorously depicted, but also the whole Bat-Family explored in a fun way, which will be especially great for Batgirl. An untitled LCU film (possibly The Billion Brick Race) is set to launch on May 24, 2019.
