Iran says to boost military support for Syria
The Aleppo offensive is the fourth that al-Assad’s regime has launched since Moscow began an air campaign on September 30.

According to the Russian general, tensions simmer between jihadists in Syria as ISIL carried out 3 terrorist attacks against Nusra Front militants near Idlib.
She said she believes the air strikes are part of a hidden Moscow agenda.
Obama’s statement comes in the backdrop of Moscow continuing to bomb ISIS targets in Syria.
There has been “no meeting of the minds in terms of strategy”, he said. That brought them to the edges of Al-Hader, 25 kilometres from Aleppo. The Observatory’s director Rami Abdulrahman said six rebel fighters and two civilians had been killed.
He said the regime was pushing hard to retake the string of villages south of Aleppo city because they “form the gate towards Homs and Damascus”.
A senior Iranian official said Thursday on a visit to Syria that Tehran would consider sending fighters if Damascus requested them.
The United States is to stop trying to build Syrian rebel units to fight the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS), now known as the Islamic State, and focus instead on training and arming vetted leaders, a defence official said Friday.
Russian Federation is “working on the basis that [al-]Assad is the legitimate president”, he added.
Asserting that the only way to end the civil war in Syria was through a legitimate, inclusive government there, US President Barack Obama has said that he hopes Russian Federation would soon realise it can’t “buy peace” in the war-torn country through air strikes.
“I think Afghanistan policy adjustment was prudent, although my judgment would be that we need to keep the force at a slightly larger level than what the president has decided”, Khalilzad said.
Russian bombers have destroyed 4 terrorist command centers, 6 ammunition depots, 2 underground bunkers, 32 field camps, 6 strongholds and a mortar battery over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesman said.
In a statement, Turkey’s military said the plane ignored three warnings before Turkish warplanes shot down the aircraft Friday.
He also said that all 26 cruise missiles fired from Russian ships at targets in Syria in the Caspian Sea earlier this month hit their targets, denying USA claims that four missiles had crashed in Iran.

A few of Russia’s air strikes have hit groups which are not affiliated to Islamic State but are trying to unseat Assad, and are backed by the United States and its allies.
