Syrian rebels reinforce frontline, deploy more men, missiles

In response to fears about Russian involvement in Syria, President Vladimir Putin said Moscow was “not striving for any kind of leadership over Syria”.

A successful American regime change operation in Syria would cut across definite interests of the Russian state and the ruling class of criminal oligarchs that it represents.
“We still don’t 100 percent share the same view on the situation up to every step with our partners in the region, with the Americans, with our other colleagues, but we absolutely have progress”, Lavrov said. Other air strikes hit near Mosul, Baiji, Sinjar and Tal Afar, it said in a statement.
