WTA Tianjin: Quarter Final Recap
Clinical Agnieszka Radwanska is on the brink of securing her place in the WTA Finals after outclassing Karolina Pliskova to set up a Tianjin Open final against Danka Kovinic.

Radwanska will face Danka Kovinic, who edged out Bojana Jovanovski 6-4,6(2)-7, 6-2 in Sunday’s final.
Kovinic is the only Montenegrin to reach the last eight of a WTA tournament and the 20-year-old can now look forward to her first final.
In the second set, a pair of breaks was traded early on but the players were inseparable for the remainder.
Radwanska broke the third-seeded Pliskova’s serve four times and saved both break points she faced to prevail in 66 minutes.

The win is Radwanska’s fifth in five previous battles with the Czech, and she’s never dropped a set or even been forced to a tiebreaker against Pliskova. After losing just three games in her opening two rounds, Radwanska survived a tight opening set against WTA rising star Elizaveta Kulichkova to book her place in the semi finals, with a 7-6(3), 6-2 win. Both have reached the finals in Hong Kong and Tianjin respectively and if they were to win the final on Sunday, will see themselves through to Singapore.
